This was my 2nd visit to Westendorf skiing.  My first visit (and my first ever attempt at skiing!) was in February 1997 with Karen, Etienne, Lorraine & Sonja.  See below for photos. Click here for the map of Ski Runs around Westendorf.

This year I went in January with Duncan, Marc, Ruchi, John & Alan.  This picture was taken in Munich on our way back to Holland.  Please note that Marc's arm is in a sling.  Guess who had a little mishap on the last day, during the last hour of the holiday......  Answers on a postcard please!

Jakobwirt

The Jakobwirt Sporthotel - 4 * with swimming pool (tiny) and an excellent bar

 Ins Moment - based under the Jacobwirt in the center of Westendorf. Run by a wacky Skiing Scotsman
This year we went to a 4 * hotel with a swimming pool! We spent many a happy hour in the Apres-ski bar of the hotel :- Ins Moment

Marc decided to have one last go during the last hour of the last day.  Result?  Marc 0 Mountain 1 The Mysterious John......  This is one of the few photos of 'Mr Big' that we have.  Wanted in several countries for running illegal casinos.

Westendorf 1997Austrian Flag
In my first visit we stopped in a pension, Sonnenalp, on the outskirts of the village. It was a really nice place with excellent food. Being on the outskirts of town, it did take us 15 or 20 minutes to get to the slopes each day which was a pain when carrying heavy skiing gear or going out for apres-ski!
