I first came here with a very good dutch friend of mine called patrick, don't let the name fool you,he's not irish;-) our one lasting memory of bangkok is doing a tour to kanchanaburi (bridge over the river kwai) and expecting to catch our flight to ao nang with 3 hours to spare. What could this possibly have in common with my return to bangkok,18 months later;;;;;; traffic%%%% not only my was my air asia flight delayed by 30 min's (and 2 hours on the way back,i'm not flying with them again) but the 153 bus i intended to take didn't turn up and the airport bus got stuck on a bangkok motorway exit ramp in a traffic jam for 40 min's Back to patrick..... Our 3 hour margin dwindled and dwindled to such a point that we thought we might miss our flight. We eventually arrived an hour before our flight but we'd got the terminal wrong........ ;-) long and short of it i was almost 2 hours late meeting Camz. Camz is one of those rare people who you can say anything to and he won't pre-judge you. Ok, he prefers wine to beer but hey,no-one is perfect ;-) much of the next 2 days was spent catching up on news and doing tourist stuff. Rather than bore you or try and put words to something where words are inadequate, have a look at the pics.
poor camz had a 6am start and so i had a day to myself. The tallest tower in thailand i did on my own and in a rush. Shame really. 200 baht (4 euros) including a free drink and i only had enough time for a few fotos and a beer. I rushed back to catch my train (remember my traffic woes) which cost 5 baht or 10 euro cents. I hate air asia and will never fly with them gin. My 1815 has now become a 2200 flight...
