| took an overnight train to bucharest. Cost for a 1st class overnight sleeper was only 5891 huf or £16. Very little difference to 2nd class except the power worked and there was a shower in the toilet. | ||||||||

Hernri's belgian brasserie, bem rakpart 12 (buda side of river on the river front close to wire bridge). Much better! Nicer decor. Even better choice of beers with good explanations (i think, it was in hungarian!). The same Rochefort would have been only 750 huf i.e. Only 3/4 of the price of world beers. They have 4 of the 6 trappist beers and 7 belgian beers on tap inluding leffe bruin and blond and kriek. 2 pils but I forgive them! A.draft leffe blond Leffe blond (in the right glass)25cl was a very reasonable 380 huf or about 1 pound. | ||||||

mosselen XIII pannonia 14 2nd best of the 3 but only just. Beer is more expensive than Henri and the decor is good but not as good as Henri. Leffe blond 25cl(in the right glass) on tap was huf 400. Rochefort 8 was huf 900. food selection was even better than Henri I think, especially if you love mussels! (hence the name). Www.mosselen.hu. It has a no smoking section :-) |

Definitely the 3rd best of the bunch. Went to beer world on vaci utca. Staff were quick. reasonable choice but no belgian beers on tap. I paid 990 for a rochefort 8 in the correct glass. They gave me a pretzel which turned out not to be free (it cost only 230 huf but thats not the point). A service charge was added on bringing the total to 1500 approx!
